100 thousand people will be trained in the needed fields of expertise
The project “My Business, My Strenght, My Future” launched by TÜSİAD to reveal the competence potential of Turkey and to support digital transformation, which plays a key role in economic growth, was introduced. The project, which arises from the need of the business world to access qualified human resources in the field of digital technologies, is being implemented with the contributions of important companies in the IT sector. Ten thousand people are planned to receive training in the first year of “My Business, My Strenght, My Future” where young professionals can apply for free training on the technology fields of the future, especially artificial intelligence and data analytics, by applying on the website www.isimgucumgelegim.org. Final goal is to provide training for 100.000 people in four years.
TÜSİAD, which embraces digital transformation as one of the most important agenda items and emphasizes its impact on economic growth and its contribution to international competitiveness at every opportunity, has also taken an important step in creating the required qualified human resources with the transformation process. Based on the human resource needs revealed by the survey conducted by TÜSİAD among its members, the My Business, My Strength, My Future platform allows young professionals to benefit from online trainings in their fields of interest free of charge. There are seven training programs on the platform: Data Science, Software Development, Data Analysis and Visualization, Cloud Solutions, Mobile Application Development, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security.
Qualified workforce will be increased in the field of digital technologies
Corporations that want to achieve strong growth by taking advantage of digital opportunities need a qualified workforce trained in information and communication technologies. Those who will complete the trainings on the My Business, My Strength, My Future platform and receive their certificate will be able to meet the needs of corporations that put new generation technologies on their agenda and want to access competent human resources.
TÜSİAD President Simone Kaslowski underlined that due to the rapid development of technology and changing business models, the need for human resources equipped with new generation digital skills and competencies should be evaluated primarily in terms of employment policies. Kaslowski continued as:
“Both the paradigm shift brought about by digital transformation and the Covid-19 pandemic we are currently in have reinforced the need to look at digital transformation not only from the perspective of technology, but also from the perspective of the transformation of business conduct, jobs and employment. As TÜSİAD, we believe that we should focus on two issues in order to understand how employment will be reshaped. The first is the adaptation of the existing employees to this transformation and the other is the new generation’s entry into business life equipped with the competencies required and needed. In our report studies and awareness activities, we underline the importance of the transformation of both the current workforce and the new generation.
With the My Business, My Strength, My Future Project, we aim to contribute to the adaptation of the workforce to this transformation, in line with the vision of increasing technology production and competence of usage in our country. We are launching an online education platform for students and young professionals in order to be prepared for the future business environment and the professions of the digital age. We aim for this platform to increase the qualified human resource equipped with digital skills needed by the business world and to help this resource meet with employment opportunities.
TÜSİAD Board Member and Digital Roundtable Chairperson Serkan Sevim pointed out that Turkey’s dynamic population creates an important potential in the field of technology and innovation, as in many other fields. Sevim also added that: “We are witnessing the radical transformation process of the world economies. Today, when traditional economies are replaced by digital economies, the pandemic has accelerated digital transformation and made it vital. On a global scale, radical transformations are taking place in digital technology products and trade. With digitalization, we, as the Turkish business world, need to benefit much more from the driving force of technology for global competition, sustainability and innovation. We are talking about new business lines, new professions. For this reason, we should provide our young people with high value-added skills and offer them innovative career and development opportunities. We are taking an important step towards this with the “My Business, My Strength, My Future” project.”
TÜSİAD Information and Communication Technologies Working Group Chairperson Burak Aydın shared the details of the My Business, My Strength, My Future project as: “Qualified human resources equipped with 21st century digital skills and competencies are increasing their importance day by day in order to provide sustainable competitive advantage. Qualified human resources are scarce but in high demand all over the world and the most important driving force of the digital economy/transformation. With the TÜSİAD My Business, My Strength, My Future Project, we aim to help students and young professionals develop their digital competencies and skills through the free online education platform and add them to the high-demand resource pool, thus helping them meet with employment opportunities.”
