458 million TL investment in Big Bang Startups
The Big Bang Startup Challenge event, which is determined by the best startups that apply to İTÜ Çekirdek every year, was held on December 2 this year with the motto “Pioneers”. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Big Bang witnessed the 458 million TL reward, cash and investment received by startups. In Big Bang 2021, 36 startups received cash and prizes of 7 million 780 TL; 10 startups announced their total investment of 26 million 251 thousand TL on the Big Bang stage for the first time. The investment of 424 million 78 thousand 180 TL received by 41 İTÜ Çekirdek startups that received investment in 2021 was celebrated by being announced at the Big Bang. Enterprises that qualify to be in the top three with awards, cash and investments among the startups in the TOP 20 were Evodice DeepSport and Kozalak.
Speaking at the Big Bang, İTÜ ARI Teknokent General Manager Prof. Dr. Attila Dikbaş said: “As İTÜ Çekirdek, which is among the top 5 in the world; we continue to grow with our vertical space and stakeholders by developing and evolving every year. As İTÜ ARI Teknokent, making a difference both in our country and in our region is one of the issues we attach great importance to. For this purpose, cooperation between technocities; International cooperation has been our focus this year and will continue to be so in the future. We also have something new that I would like to share with you today. In 2022, we will maintain a global communication by focusing on attracting startups from outside of Turkey to İTÜ Çekirdek. This work will be implemented under the umbrella of ‘İTÜ Seed’. With this project, we will work to make our country and region a hub for foreign entrepreneurs; we will mobilize all our resources to expand all domestic and foreign startups both in our ecosystem and open them to the world. I proudly announce that we will launch the global website of İTÜ Seed in the first months of 2022. We will continue to do our best with the support of our Ministry of Industry and Technology and Istanbul Technical University so that our country can make more breakthroughs in the field of technology. I would like to thank our İTÜ ARI Teknokent Board of Directors for supporting us on this path, our employees, our valuable stakeholders, our investors, our mentors and our startups working for the future of Turkey.”
83 technological startups took their place in the Big Bang
While the virtual stands of the 83 semi-finalists of İTÜ Çekirdek, which received thousands of applications from every city in Turkey, were visited by the visitors; 20 startups that were entitled to take the stage among these startups made their presentations on the magnificent Big Bang stage.
