Siemens Turkey and İYTE come together for R&D
Siemens Turkey and İzmir High Technology Institute (İYTE) opened the laboratory in the fields of digital industry, R&D and software at the İzmir Institute of Technology Gülbahçe Campus. Speaking at the opening, Hüseyin Gelis, Chairperson and CEO of Siemens Turkey, stated that Siemens Turkey supports young talents in software licenses and training as well as the opening of laboratories within the scope of cooperation, and said: “The laboratory uses theoretical knowledge in many fields, especially engineering, with practical applications. It will provide a working space for our young talents to support them. Our students, who are future practitioners in this field, will be able to gain a strong foundation right at the beginning of the journey.”
İYTE Rector Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran, in his speech at the opening, said that: “At İzmir Institute of Technology, we train qualified scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs and leading individuals who can foresee the problems of humanity and produce universal solutions to problems. We believe that university-industry collaborations are of great importance in the process of transforming knowledge into the final product and I wholeheartedly believe that the laboratory we opened today will pave the way for new projects.”
Siemens Turkey Technology President Erdem Alptekin said: “We find it very important to cooperate with various institutions and stakeholders, especially universities, to develop technology. The ‘Digital Industry Laboratory’ that we opened will provide training and research opportunities to our young talents. We want the laboratory to be a place of education and research as well as co-creation with our partners. We will be able to apply engineering designs, analyzes and simulations here.”
