The first e-Hearing was realized in Ankara
e-Hearing application, enabling lawyers to participate in a video conference hearing from wherever they are, put into use in the Ankara West 1st Consumer Court on September 15.
The ‘e-Hearing’, which is included in the Judicial Reform Strategy Document of the Ministry of Justice and enables lawyers to attend the hearings via video conferencing, was realized for the first time at the Ankara West 1st Consumer Court. Party lawyer joined the hearing from his office after authenticating with the electronic signature method. On the screen installed in the courtroom, the image of the lawyer and the hall appeared.
Software was developed by General Directorate of Information Technologies
The software and development of the e-Hearing system, in which the Minister of Justice Abdulhamit Gül also participated in the testing studies, was carried out by the Ministry of Justice Information Technologies General Directorate. With the e-Hearing system, lawyers will be able to attend the hearings in different cities via video conferencing. Lawyers will send an “e-Hearing” request to the relevant court by writing the reason for 24 hours before the hearing, after making an inquiry from the “Hearing Inquiry” menu on the “UYAP Lawyer Portal”. After the judge accepts the request via UYAP, he will be able to attend the hearing on the portal. Lawyers will have to wear robes at hearing where they are connected via the application.
