If only everyone leaves the job to the ‘experts’
Data centers made great progress in the last 5-10 years all over the world. We have come to a situation where data centers offering cloud services and managed services are now similar to services such as electricity, water and natural gas. According to Premier DC Data Center Board Consultant Sadi Abalı, as a result of this development, the weight of the information technologies market has shifted from software and hardware to service area. This trend continues at an accelerated pace. Sadi Abalı continued as:
“We can say that the data center sector is less affected by the pandemic; however, it was still affected. If we look at the IT market in general, hardware applications other than end devices such as notebooks were negatively affected. In data centers, the transition to cloud or data centers has accelerated. In this case, data centers stand out. While we, call centers were working from home, we managed the risk by bringing the personnel who should be physically present in the data center to the data center alternately. We were able to maintain both physically on-site service and remote service. We were able to plan this very well; because we have this scale. But if the company has 3-5 IT staff, this is a huge risk during the pandemic. In recent years, businesses have begun to put more emphasis on building infrastructures that can access everything on their agenda, anywhere, anytime. The lesson we learn from the pandemic will be the searches such as Desktop As a Service applications to ensure that remote work can be healthy both in terms of security and performance. We are also working on this. We have a road map. We started to actualize our goals step by step.
After the pandemic, the remote working habits of companies will definitely continue. We try to provide all the services required for businesses to manage their business from data centers. We aim for a service package where we gather titles such as physical, cloud, managed services and security under one roof. Desktop As a Service is one of them. Our container service will be activated within 1-2 months. We integrate all our services we offer with our management systems. We attach importance to safety, starting from design and we try to give the user maximum authority where needed. Open-stack platform is also a platform designed in this way. I think businesses will have great advantages in terms of reducing their costs. Their applications must be suitable for the container. This is something global service providers already provide. But Turkey has delayed it. Data centers took the easy way out. Infrastructure is easy to sell; however, users who provide such services run these applications abroad, take certain risks in terms of GDPR and their applications run with higher risks. We are trying to be the pioneer of the new structure. With “Pay As You Go” method, we aim to offer a truly flexible cloud structure.
Premier DC data center is located in the city and one of our important features is that we are not depending on any operators. Our customers can connect to all telecom operators and use the services we offer as a blend we created with different operators. If they want, they can benefit from large operators and other medium sized operators in our data center. Fiber infrastructures of these operators are ready in our building. In addition to classical data center services such as physical server leasing, we can offer multi-cloud and hybrid solutions by combining cloud services and managed services from our own data center. Our hybrid cloud delivery solution is one of our features that make the lives of businesses easier. We have a habit of constantly developing new products by paying attention to automation and security. At this point, we attach importance to business partnerships. We continue our negotiations with many manufacturers, software providers and platform owners quickly and we form some collaborations to provide their services through us. We are currently working on business plans and designs with 10 different solution and technology providers. We will continue to announce them throughout the year. Desktop As a Service is one of them. SD-WAN will come next.”
