Approval for the ‘Farmer Support Platform’ from TÜBİTAK
The “Farmer Support Platform” project, which is a big step taken by TARNET to keep the big data of Turkish agriculture, has received the approval of TÜBİTAK. “Farmer Support Platform” is a comprehensive digital platform that will facilitate all this process for producers, which has emerged as a result of TARNET’s unique software capabilities and will transform agricultural data into information.
TARNET and İNOSENS Informatics Technology made an application for “Farmers Support Platform with Pest Detection and Disease Prediction Capability in Agriculture” project within the scope of TÜBİTAK TEYDEB 1501 Program and with TÜBİTAK decided to support the project.
‘Farmer Support Platform’ aims to be the single and largest data source in the field
The quality and safety of food supply continues to increase its importance in our world and country. In the journey of agricultural products from seed to harvest, from field to table; the need for accurate, fast and objective control detection systems is increasing at the same rate. Continuous monitoring by an expert eye during the cultivation of agricultural products is necessary for the emergence of a healthy and quality product. Space, time, cost and opportunity may not always allow the process to be like this. However, smart mobile devices, which are brought into our lives by rapidly developing technology, create an opportunity to solve this problem by providing remote image transfer and communication. ‘Farmer Support Platform’ is a comprehensive digital platform that will facilitate all this process for producers, which has emerged as a result of TARNET’s unique software capabilities and will transform agricultural data into information. In cases where quality processes are not operated effectively, the product loss caused by diseases and pests in the products cultivated in our country can reach 35%. The ‘Farmer Support Platform’, which includes data collection/analysis methods that enable the detection of nutritional defects, pests and diseases in advance, will play important roles in both the protection of the product and the reduction of input costs. In addition, the ‘Farmer Support Platform’, which emerged with the aim of being a digital platform where agricultural producers and agricultural engineers meet; offers opportunities for production to reach high quality standards. As a result of TARNET’s unique software capabilities and big data analysis systems transforming agricultural infrastructures into more understandable and efficient information, ‘Farmer Support Platform’ aims to reach the position of the single and largest data source in the field.
