Battery focused collaboration comes to life

Arçelik collaborated with ASPİLSAN on battery design and production. In this context, Arçelik will jointly design and manufacture batteries for small household appliances produced in Turkey with ASPİLSAN. With this cooperation, ASPİLSAN and Arçelik plan to support domestic production and increase the rate of product localization. The battery design will also be carried out for the first time in the rechargeable vertical vacuum cleaner product, which has the highest domestic production rate. Afterwards, domestic production will continue with all Arçelik’s rechargeable products. Apart from Arçelik and ASPİLSAN, it is aimed to include companies that produce ODMs for Arçelik in Turkey in the future. In his speech at the signing ceremony, Arçelik Turkey General Manager Can Dinçer said that: “The development and production of these imported products in our country is an important step towards the localization of critical components. We will continue to support the development of our industry by improving the number and scope of such collaborations.”

ASPİLSAN Energy General Manager Ferhat Özsoy emphasized that as one of the companies of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, they have realized 2 phases of battery production (Battery Management System-BMS and Battery Pack (battery packaging). We will also produce cells, which is an important and value added phase, and we will first use these produced batteries in batteries that will be developed for Arçelik. Thanks to our batteries that will be packaged with locally produced batteries, carbon emissions during transportation will decrease and energy will be used more efficiently. The batteries to be produced will be used in small household appliances battery systems. Our company will be a pioneer in the use of domestically produced batteries and it will also be a solution to our foreign dependency problem in this regard.”
