Become a part of the TRAI artificial intelligence ecosystem!

To support the holistic development and sustainability of all stakeholders of the artificial intelligence ecosystem; to increase the cooperation between the people and institutions, capacity and employees and the rate of commercialization; Turkey Artificial Intelligence Initiative (TRAI) released the ‘Turkey Artificial Intelligence Initiative Map – February 2021”.

TRAI was established in 2017 by Halil Aksu with the aim of increasing awareness on artificial intelligence in Turkey and developing the ecosystem. On the February 2021 map of the initiative; there are 164 startups working in areas such as image processing, insight and data analytics, search assistant and search engine, natural language processing, ‘chatbot’, machine learning, optimization, autonomous vehicles, robotic process automation and smart platforms. TRAI helps startups in its ecosystem to meet with academia and the private sector, to make joint projects, to find investors and to expand abroad. There were 145 startups on the map published in November 2020. 8 startups that were closed in 2020 were removed from the map. As of February 2021, the number of artificial intelligence startups in its ecosystem reached 164.

Since the entrepreneurial ecosystem developed and the artificial intelligence gained speed in recent years, Turkey Artificial Intelligence Initiative ecosystem has grown significantly. Completing the year 2017 with 24 initiatives, the initiative had 28 company support, 9 technology business partners and 64 initiatives on the ecosystem map in 2018. The number of startups working on subjects such as image processing, natural language processing, autonomous vehicle, ‘chatbot’, speech recognition, prediction and analytics increased to 75 in 2019. By March 2020, with the interest of the private sector in artificial intelligence, increasing investment and support opportunities, artificial intelligence startups continued to create value, improve their area of influence and reached 112. While the number on the startup map was 134 in July 2020, this figure reached 145 in November 2020.
