Being the meeting point of game developers
Teknopark İzmir and game startup studio Games United signed an agreement to carry out an incubation program on games. With the program to be carried out, all creative people and game developers in the digital game industry will come together. Teknopark İzmir – Games United Game Incubation Program, which was created to bring game developers together and form a gaming ecosystem in the region, will be open to the applications of all entrepreneur candidates who have an innovative game idea and want to gain experience by developing their idea. Entrepreneurs who are accepted to the program, which will last for 12 months and will be open to the application of game studios working at all stages and in all types, will benefit from the Incubation Center during the support period. Studios that have successfully completed the incubation period will become a priority for working in Teknopark İzmir. In addition to services such as team building, strategy and business development, startup capital support will also be provided to the newly established or early stage game entrepreneurs who will participate in the program. Customized trainings will also be designed according to the needs of entrepreneurs at different stages.
At the ceremony held for the promotion of the program, İYTE Rector and Teknopark Izmir Chairperson Prof. Dr. Yusuf Baran, Teknopark İzmir General Manager Prof. Dr. Metin Tanoğlu, Games United Chairperson Dr. Bilgehan Baykal and its Founding Partner Önder Kartal came together. Games United Chairperson Dr. Bilgehan Baykal stated that after the incubation centers opened in Anadolu University Arınkom and İYTE, their goal is to open 2 more incubation centers, one of which is in İstanbul, in 2021. Baykal said that their vision is to encourage the players who are trained and establish teams in the incubation centers to become a company, become a partner with them and open them abroad. Referring to the importance of software and service exports in Turkey’s development, Baykal drew attention to this goal of making the Games United group of companies, which currently consists of 8 companies, the most effective digital content production center in Europe operating in the developing areas of hypercasual, casual and digital content by 2022.
