Digital competencies of young people will develop
Ministry of National Education İstanbul Directorate of National Education, Yıldız Technical University (YTÜ), Yıldız Teknopark and Uyumsoft signed a cooperation protocol. In this context, high school students will receive training from experienced names such as academics and business leaders for code writing to making robots. Yıldız Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin, İstanbul Director of National Education Levent Yazıcı, Yıldız Technopark General Director Prof. Dr. Mesut Güner, Uyumsoft AŞ President Mehmet Önder, Uyumsoft AŞ General Manager Hüseyin Şahin and authorities from related institutions participated the signing ceremony. Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to educate the young people who have the talents and abilities to keep up with the pace of technological changes in their high school ages. High school students to be selected by the selection committee will be trained by academics and business leaders in many subjects ranging from the writing codes or robot classes in a laboratory of about 10 people.
Stating the importance of cooperation with public and private sector institutions, Yıldız Technical University (YTÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. Bahri Şahin commented as: “In this summer school which will contribute to the future profession choices, high school students will learn about many sectors from software to electronics, machinery to chemistry, energy to food. In addition to this, we established Sosyopark and Art and Design Park in order to provide interdisciplinary work. While providing solutions for social issues such as Sosyopark migration and mobbing, while Art and Design Park carries out the visual designs of products patented in technopark companies. Thus, by working interdisciplinary, we are creating infrastructure for good projects as well as preventing waste of resources. İstanbul Director of National Education Levent Yazıcı said that: “While raising our children with information technology and software, we do not forget about the culture and art. Our aim is to raise kids equipped with the skills of today and the future, who can use these skills for human benefit.” Emphasizing the importance of talent development from early ages, Uyumsoft President Mehmet Önder stated: “With this project, we aim to ensure that the technological intelligence of the students are kept alive without decreasing during the training periods. The IT sector is the driving force of this transformation. It is important for our country to grow competent individuals to be competing in the world of the future. There will be new professions in the future and the technological developments will be the basis of these professions. As Uyumsoft, we are proud to support this process by leading such projects.”
