‘e-Justice Citizen’ became the champion in WSIS 2020
The “e-Justice Citizen Mobile Application”, prepared by the Ministry of Justice to facilitate the applications of the citizens, won the championship award by entering the top 5 among 776 projects in the WSIS 2020 for which it was nominated. The Award Ceremony was held on the online platform on September 7th, 2020.
The “e-Justice Citizen Mobile Application”, developed by the Ministry of Justice, became the champion by entering the top 5 in the competition organized within the framework of the World Information Society Summit (WSIS) Forum 2020. 776 projects participated in the worldwide competition. Among the projects participating in the competition, as a result of the first evaluation made by WSIS experts, “e-Justice Citizen Mobile Application” was among the 352 IT Projects that will enter the public voting. “E-Justice Citizen Mobile Application” became the champion by taking part in the 5 projects with the most votes.
Access to justice gets easier
The Ministry of Justice facilitates citizens’ access to justice services by using technology. With the “e-Justice Citizen” application, which takes its place on mobile platforms, citizens can instantly access case files over their mobile phones. With the application prepared for Android and IOS, citizens can instantly get information about the open or closed files in the judicial and administrative jurisdiction and they can see the contact information registered in the UYAP Information System. Thanks to the agenda feature of the application, citizens can follow the developments regarding their files visually on the calendar during the month.
What is WSIS?
The WSIS (World Information Society Summit), which encourages the development of information and communication technologies in countries and to improve the information infrastructures of developing countries, consists of senior representatives of international organizations and approximately 11 thousand participants from 175 countries. WSIS is an inclusive and development-oriented organization where everyone can create and share knowledge. The Ministry of Justice Information Technologies General Directorate UYAP Information System was nominated for WSIS 2016 awards from the e-Government category and was awarded the first prize.
