Entrepreneurs will meet with investment
The Startup Venture Capital Investment Fund (Startup GSYF), established by Albaraka Portfolio Management, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Albaraka Türk, entered the qualified investors market with a ceremony held in Borsa İstanbul. Startup GSYF, whose initial capital was covered by Albaraka Portfolio and started its operations as of May 2020, is designed in a way that institutional and individual investors can make easy investments. Starting to be traded in the “qualified investors market” with the code “APYVC” on Borsa İstanbul on 13 October 2020, Startup GSYF offers an alternative investment instrument for institutional and individual investors, especially pension funds. Speaking at the ceremony of the Startup GSYF, the first venture capital investment fund listed on Borsa İstanbul, Borsa İstanbul Deputy General Manager Mehmet Gönen said that: “Venture capital investment fund is a product that reflects the logic of participation. We all try to support entrepreneurship. There are advantages to doing this from a fund instead of collecting money for individual projects. It has a portfolio where it distributes investor risk. On the other hand, entrepreneurs have acquired guides that will help them and open their way while growing their business before fund managers.” Albaraka Portföy General Manager Muhammed Emin Özer noted that Startup GSYF, which has been established in 7 years, aims to bring together Turkey’s promising companies with qualified investors. Özer stated that: “Regardless of which sector or stage it is in, Startup GSYF, whose product is ready and has a high growth potential, is interested in all technology initiatives and it plans to invest very rapidly, especially during the first 2 years. Reminding that the Startup GSYF made its first investment in Clotie, Özer emphasized that four more investment processes will be completed when the contract phases are completed in November. Stating that Albaraka Portfolio collects all the funds that are open to entrepreneurs under the brand “APY Ventures”, Özer said: “While APY Ventures continues their active investments with different funds, entrepreneurs can submit their applications on apyventures.com.”
