IT plans are reviewed from start
Dell Technologies announced that with the remote working process, all IT needs increased, as well as cloud investments. So much so that, according to Gartner research, while 74% of CFOs were planning to make remote work permanent, IT plans started to be reviewed from start. IT transformation, workforce transformation and security transformation are the top three topics on the agenda of businesses. Drawing attention to the speed of technology adoption and increased IT investment demand, Dell Technologies Country Manager for Turkey Işıl Hasdemir stated that: “Looking at just even the demand for cloud services, we see that the expenditure increased in ratio of 3 to 1. While many businesses restructure their projects and budgets in the short term, new technology consumption and financial models are built on much more flexible IT infrastructures in the long term. This rapid transformation in technology has caused new security tools to enter the lives of businesses. Security tools, which have been used to eliminate unexpected risks in the short term, may be one of the most important threats to sustainable security in the long term.” Işıl Hasdemir explained three areas that businesses should focus on in order to accelerate their digital transformation, adapt quickly to the new normal and create a more flexible IT environment:
“Digital innovation is the first topic. Businesses seem to become more dependent on IT to drive new revenue streams, optimize costs and prepare for the next ‘new normal’. For this reason, it is necessary to constantly improve IT applications, workload, cloud infrastructure, operation models and processes. While the second topic is ‘digital workspace’ and competing to attract, retain and enable a culture of working remotely, businesses should also have a user-centric approach. This approach provides a productive and safe environment for employees wherever and how they work, naturally increasing business efficiency. The third topic is lifting physical boundaries as well as the increasing data flow with modern security and remote working and a new mindset has emerged in which security and risk management is constantly evolving. At this point, security should become an element that facilitates and accelerates innovation rather than an obstacle.”
