New applications of export in 2020
Speaking at the presentation meeting of Digital Transformation and Export 2020 Report which is one of the innovations of Turkey Exporters Assembly (TİM), TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle gave the following information on the major structural transformation in Turkey’s economy and the mindset change process:
“Our 2020 export target is to reach 190 billion USD and the goal of ‘Turkey with Foreign Trade Surplus’. Fort his aim, we are working on transformation 7/24. With the Project and Digital Transformation Office established within TİM, we are developing projects in order to catch up with the age and stand by exporters. By redesigning our TİM website and providing easy-to-use features, we made many transactions needed by exporters online through our website. Our exporters will now be able to learn the exhibition support amounts provided to our exporters by a single click with the Exhibition Support Panel, which they can access on the TIM website and mobile application. In this way, we aim for our exporters to proactively continue their marketing and promotion activities in the target markets. Exporters will now be able to create the “Membership Inquiry and Verification Document”, which is one of the most important documents they use in customs procedures, via the website or e-government and receive it in seconds.
After the regulation regarding the issuance of green passports for exporters, a green passport inquiry screen was created in line with the needs of the companies. Now, companies that want to make inquiries about the green passport service will be able to access the green passport inquiry test, which is available on both the TİM website and the mobile application, and access information on green passport rights and the documents required to obtain a green passport. With the mobile application, exporters will be able to view all export and market data for global markets, new generation target market analysis reports, country information notes and other informative publications prepared by TİM. The live support button in the mobile application will provide active support for the solution of exporters’ problems. Exporters will also be able to reach all the standards and documents required for any part of the world through the digital platform where TİM works with the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE). With the Export Radar application developed for both mobile application and website, exporters will have access to detailed analysis, data and graphics about their products. Exporters will be able to find answers to their questions and problems on a 24/7 basis with the AloTİM (callTİM) application. Exporters will be able to reach TIM 24/7 from all over the world via WhatsApp, Facebook and Bip applications. We published the Export 2019 Report for the first time last year. One of the important topics we focus on in 2020 will be the Next Generation Commercial Diplomacy activities. In this context, this year we are focused on the pillars of a next generation of trade diplomacy such as the new generation trade delegations, e-export, digital platforms and logistics centers in Turkey. In our report, as a special title, we examined the global trends and the future of both commercial and economic indicators with a 360-degree perspective, like our RCA analysis last year. In 2030, we shared the countries that will import the most in the World and products and sectors to be subject to more global trade in these countries.
In order to increase our export performance, we made analysis in our report regarding some countries Turkey competes with for exporters to avoid the risk of product, industry and market concentration, to evaluate new opportunities and to draw export routes correctly. In addition to the analysis and forecasts in our report, we also presented the activities of our Assembly in 2019 and the agenda of 2020. We shaped our 2020 agenda in the vision of 5G with mottos of ‘Strong Turkey, strong economy, strong exports, strong human resources and strong export infrastructure and ecosystem’. This year, we will continue organizing our events such as Turkey Innovation Week, Turkey Design Week and will start organizing our international events again. In our agenda, we also have projects to open next generation TİM offices like TİM North Cyprus office opened in 2020 and to establish new collaborations with foreign institutions and NGOs. We will continue to publish both sectoral and country-based target market analysis reports and country information notes with more intense and more detailed content. We have also completed a comprehensive technical report on the Sustainability Code and Label System for Turkish export products.”
