Pardus 21 met with its users
Inheriting its philosophy from Debian GNU/Linux’s liberal and open source approach, Pardus 21 comes with the Xfce 4.16 desktop environment by default. With its new icon sets and color palettes, the Xfce desktop environment has a low hardware requirement. Gnome, another desktop environment supported by Pardus 21, which can be downloaded from www.pardus.org.tr, uses the 3.38 version, which is the most stable and updated version of the 3 series. Many new features such as fingerprint reader support, parental content control, simplified wireless internet sharing are waiting for Pardus 21 users in the Gnome desktop experience. Using the 5.10 LTS version of the Linux kernel, which will be supported for 5 years, Pardus 21 has an infrastructure that meets the “Long Term Support” demand of corporate users at “kernel level”. The 5.10 LTS version of the Linux kernel, which will receive all kinds of security updates until the end of 2026, will have the highest level of power and reliability. Pardus 21, a Linux-based distribution/operating system that can be easily installed and used by anyone, offers the user everything that can be carried out with an operating system. To use Pardus 21, the user does not need to have an idea of how the background of a system works; it is enough to find the application for their needs only. “Welcome” program, which welcomes the user after the installation of Pardus 21, helps the user with the initial settings after the installation. With “Welcome”, the user can configure the desktop, choose the wallpaper and color theme and adjust the size of the icons on the desktop. It is also easier to reach new applications with Pardus 21, which is equipped with many tools that aim for the user to use and manage their computer more easily. With the new version, Pardus Store leaves its place to the more functional Pardus Software Center. Pardus Software Center enables thousands of software in package repositories to be installed on a computer with a single click. These software applications can be installed on the computer with a single click, without making any adjustments. In the Pardus Software Center, users can choose among many alternatives that do the same job, according to the number of downloads or the scores given by other users. Another innovation that comes with Pardus 21 is exFAT file system support. Considered the enhanced version of FAT32, exFAT does not get stuck in size limits and allows files larger than 4GB and partitions larger than 32GB. The exFAT file system is used in new generation USB drives and SD cards, which require higher storage capacity and higher transfer speed, especially for 4K videos. The exFAT file system, which is also used on Windows and Mac platforms, expands the possibilities of “interoperability” in hybrid networks where different operating systems are used together.
