R&D studies have become the backbone of logistics
Increasing demand and changing order channels with the pandemic brought logistics operations together with new technologies. Dinçer Logistics, one of the companies with an R&D center in the sector, became a logistics company that produces technology during the pandemic period with an investment of 60 million TL in 2020. Developing innovative mobile applications and web-based technological structures, Dinçer Logistics has recently applied FMCG sorter automation systems. Aiming to make a total investment of 100 million TL in 2021, the company structures its technology-oriented works by making use of artificial intelligence. Prioritizing start-up investments, the company will invest in at least two start-up projects this year. Dinçer Logistics Information Technologies and R&D Director Özhan Fındık shared the following information:
“Technologies such as demand forecasting, planning, simplification of logistics, developing transportation systems, robotic production technologies, smart storage systems, order management systems, dynamic transportation distribution systems constitute the backbone of logistics. The web and developing mobile technologies, on the other hand, enable orders to be taken easily from anywhere and bring products to customers. Basically, there are big data management, GPS systems and internet infrastructure. Developing technological devices also make it possible to use these technologies at affordable costs. With the contributions of our R&D center, we renewed our distribution network software with dynamic and intelligent systems that include map technologies. We invest in mobility-based applications that make micro-deployment more efficient. We have applied robotics and FMCG sorter automation systems, which are not very common in the sector, for Turkey’s leading e-commerce companies. We have integrated applications and web-based technological structures into our processes that will enable instant and fast access to our services from anywhere. In particular, we are working to ensure full integration with systems using artificial intelligence that will minimize errors and increase efficiency. We have determined our 2021 R&D investment budget as 100 million TL.”
