Strategic acquisition from Coşkunöz
Coşkunöz Holding, which produces high value-added products in sectors such as automotive, technology, defense and aviation, acquired İVME IHS, which operates in the field of Unmanned Aviation Systems. In this context, the holding, which will combine its experience in aviation and defense industry with the new company, will focus on the production of UAVs capable of vertical take-off, sub-cloud UAVs, as well as target platform UAVs that can reach high altitudes and speeds. Ankara-based İVME company, which was established to develop domestic and national generic flight control systems for unmanned aerial vehicles, will continue its work within Coşkunöz Holding with its new corporate identity and the name UAVERA.
Coşkunöz Holding will focus on providing products and services for civil and military use with UAVERA, which has the capacity to produce 3 systems/6 aircraft and sub-components per month. UAVs used in Turkey and abroad as provided by the cameras, engines, avionics systems and the studies on the vernacularization other technologies will be among the priority issues of the UAVERA. After the acquisition, Coşkunöz Holding has invested approximately 15 million TL in UAVERA, and has taken the first steps for the projects of producing vertical, low-class fixed wing UAVs that can reach vertical landing and take-off and target platform UAVs that can reach high altitudes and speeds. Coşkunöz Holding CEO Erdem Acay said that: “With our new investment, we aim to bring in something new in the Turkish defense and aviation industry. In addition to the UAV and military projects, we have the topics such as providing services of surveillance, identifying, monitoring and maintenance to private and semi-private institutions on our agenda. Turkey buys UAV cameras and engines from abroad. We have localization projects for cameras and engines. The UAVs we will develop will be able to take off and land vertically. The UAVs, which we have made autonomous with software, will provide easy use to the pilot with a useful simulation interface. Our products will be capable of meeting the desired service by making additions for different types of tasks and jobs. With the production of domestic systems, we will prevent infiltrations and control mechanisms.”
