Turkish brands meet with Azerbaijan
Founded in İstanbul and having a two-year R&D period in which forming cooperation and making investments, Brendfoni reached Azerbaijan’s most powerful e-commerce logistics infrastructure and meet the retail brands in Turkey in the e-export focus with the Azerbaijani market of annual 2 billion TL potential. Brendfoni is on the way to becoming the e-commerce partner of brands in Turkey for the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region with a population of 300 million, mainly Azerbaijan. It aims to increase its online retail sales by hosting more than 70 Turkish brands by June 2021 and reach a turnover of 500 million TL. Speaking at the digital meeting held on the subject, Brendfoni Business Development Director Nicat Ahmadov said that: “Although e-commerce volume is high in Azerbaijan, there is currently no local marketplace that directly dominates the market. Azerbaijan, especially consumers in the USA, China, Germany and via intermediaries from different sites belonging to countries like Turkey can make indirect purchases. By transmitting the products that they want to buy online to the local e-commerce logistics company, they receive their products at their addresses or cargo reception centers after all processes. In this direction, Brendfoni started an important change as the marketplace. We started to create a great e-commerce culture in Azerbaijan and we aim at a turnover of 500 million TL by the end of 2021.”
Brendfoni.com.tr aims to open up to the CIS region including Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Russia, Belarus and Ukraine in 2022 and to have a voice in these markets that are open to development with its offices and e-commerce logistics infrastructure to be established in the relevant countries. By the end of 2023, meeting Turkey e-commerce brands with the CIS region with a population of 300 million is also among the goals.
“Free Shipping” opportunity for Turkish brands
Azerbaijani online consumers, shopping from Turkey before the Brendfoni, were facing with a shipping fee of up to 50-80 TL for each package. Brendfoni offers “free shipping” from time to time and usually prices that are equivalent to the internal cargo transportation prices of Turkey for consumers in Azerbaijan. An advantage for consumers who do not encounter high costs other than the product cost will be the “Happy Returns” approach. Nicat Ahmadov stated that they completely target the Azerbaijani consumers and that sales are made under many different categories such as clothing, accessories, shoes, bags, home textiles and said that: “We work for the best in every field where demand and need are based on the valuable data we have created in our R&D process.”
