‘TV and traditional media suddenly gained back the popularity they used to have’
Standing out by adding brands to the corporation in recent years, developing innovative technologies and products, Logitech hosted Turkey’s first well-attended press conference held online on April 14, Tuesday. Logitech Turkey Country Manager Mustafa Uyar introduced their brands that contribute to the working from home ecosystem and products equipped with the latest technology at the meeting hosted by Logitech. In the second part of the meeting, Technology Communicator Dr. Sertaç Doğanay shared the future predictions with the participators.
Delivering the opening speech of the meeting and answering questions; Logitech Turkey Country Manager Mustafa Uyar stated that: “The world is changing rapidly. The concept of social distance, emerging due to coronavirus outbreak, began to change the business manners rapidly. We see great changes in behavioral tendencies as the social distance keeps many people at home. In just a few weeks, people started to communicate with each other, their families, employees and customers differently through various channels. TV and traditional media suddenly gained back their popularity. Meanwhile, the need for physical products has increased the demand for e-commerce to new levels, the path that would be taken in e-commerce in 4 years was taken in 4 weeks. Record numbers, which were previously seen on special discount days, are seen as daily normal levels. Today, as Logitech, we benefit both companies and employees and individual users in this working from home ecosystem. When we examine our sales, we observe that individual users predominantly increase their investment in webcams and headphones, while in the game category, sales of mouse and keyboards from Logitech G products increase. On the other hand, public institutions also have a serious investment in Logitech Video Conference systems. Many live conference connections that we watch on TVs are provided with Logitech products. As Logitech, we design and develop our products accordingly by closely following changing consumer habits and developing technologies. With our wide range of products, we are in a position to respond to any demand for people to work from home or to have a pleasant time at home.”
In the second part of the meeting, in the presentation titled “New Normals, New Dynamics”, Technology Communicator Dr. Sertaç Doğanay discussed the technological trends dimension of recent developments. Sertaç Doğanay said that: “The predictions of 2025 started to be realized in a very short time this year. In this process, while the trends are being included in the active life rapidly, the prediction has emerged that the way of production will also change. Outbreaks like SARS and Covid-19, which threaten the Asian continent, have shown us how fragile production and raw material supply is in the world.”
