You cannot ignore users!
The sixth UXistanbul, the first international conference of Turkey and the region on user experience and availability was held in İstanbul with the participation of senior executives from companies such as Google and Facebook. Organized with the support of UXservices, which applies the most up-to-date international user experience design and availability test trends in its projects, the conference offered a competent platform in the user experience with sessions of international authority professionals. The conference, which took place with the motto of “From Insight to Action” and discussed “User Experience Researches” and the transformations of insights gained in these researches, hosted the launch of Turkey User Experience (UX) Report 2019/20 prepared with the contribution of hundreds of industry professionals and presented detailed information and statistics about the industry.
Delivering the opening speech of the conference and sharing details for the Turkey User Experience 2019/20 report, UXservices Experience Design Manager Besim Kosova shared developments related to user experience in Turkey market. Kosova said that the investments in the field of user experience and the designers working in this field are increasing day by day.
Speaking as a Keynote speaker, Google UX Director Paolo Malabuyo gave important clues about the user experience and stated that: “Adopt complexity in the user experience and empathize with the user. Try to understand the complexity. Try to see the problem before you from the perspective of others and be eager to learn.”
Speaking at the conference, Facebook Research Program Manager Linn Larsson impressed the participants with an entertaining and informative presentation. Making a presentation entitled “Building a Healthy, Resilient and Collaborative Research Community”, Larsson brought critical research topic to the agenda in the field of user experience. Comparing communities to vitamins, Larsson said that: “Vitamins are not critical for our health, but they are very important.” She emphasized the importance of understanding community dynamics for user experience professionals. ASML Senior UX Researcher Mileha Soneji made a speech based on the illusion of glass and stairs developed for her uncle’s Parkinson’s disease and expressed that: “The concept of inclusive design is an area that appeals to the entire range of human diversity. Depending on the situation, we all have disabilities. It is important to capture the insights, identify the needs of the users and focus on the right problem.”
